Sweet

Earlier this week, I finished up work on my next book for Blue Apple Books, Dinosaurs in Space! And yes, those are dinosaurs in spacesuits eating burgers. Awesome, I know!

Months of hard work but it’s done and I’m super proud of it! And Amy did an awesome job coloring it all, as usual. It’s already up for pre-order on amazon.com if you are into that sort of thing. The amazon page says it’ll come out this September, but that could change, so who knows?

So now that this project is over, what’s next for me?

I’m dusting off the scripts for the new webcomic I’ve been wanting to do for a long, long while now. Obviously, I already missed the January 1st deadline I set for myself a few months back. I’m not going to publicly set a deadline for myself this time to avoid getting egg on my face again, so it’ll happen when it happens. But I’ve got a feeling it’ll be soon. I made some breakthroughs on some problems I was having with the script and am feeling re-motivated about the whole thing.

Also now that the work on the book is done and I’ve actually got some free time again, I’m going to start doing the Ask Pranas and Pokedex projects again.

I’m also going to work on some more pitches for more children’s books, so hopefully something will come from that. Honestly I never thought my career would take me down this path, but so far I’m glad it has because I’m having a blast. I mean, I actually got paid money to draw dinosaurs in spacesuits for the last three and a half months! What more could a cartoonist ask for?

So hopefully this is going to be a good year for me with lots of really big things on the horizon. Just got to keep my head down and keep doing the work.
